1. Our services

MedicineHat.Online provides web design, web development, search engine optimisation (SEO), website maintenance, and related digital marketing services to small businesses, primarily in Medicine Hat and surrounding areas in Alberta. The specific scope of any engagement is defined in a written proposal or statement of work agreed with the client.

2. Quotes and proposals

Quotes and proposals are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Final pricing for any project is confirmed in a written agreement before work begins. Estimates provided through tools such as our website cost calculator are illustrative ranges only and are not binding offers.

3. Payment terms

Unless agreed otherwise, projects are billed on a milestone basis. A non-refundable deposit (typically 30–50% of the project total) is due before work begins. Remaining payments are tied to defined milestones such as design approval, development completion, and launch. Ongoing services such as maintenance or SEO are invoiced monthly in advance. All amounts are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are exclusive of any applicable taxes.

4. Client responsibilities

You agree to provide content (text, images, logos, brand assets) and timely feedback necessary for us to deliver the project. Delays in providing content or feedback may extend the project timeline and, in some cases, affect cost.

5. Intellectual property

Upon receipt of full payment, you (the client) own all final deliverables produced specifically for your project, including the website design files, content, and code created on your behalf. You retain ownership of any content, logos, and brand materials you supply.

MedicineHat.Online retains the right to display screenshots, links and descriptions of completed projects in our portfolio, case studies, and marketing materials, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Third-party assets (e.g. open-source libraries, fonts, stock photography) remain subject to their original licences.

6. Revisions and scope changes

Each project includes a defined number of revision rounds at each milestone, as set out in the project proposal. Additional revisions or work outside the agreed scope will be quoted separately and require approval before being carried out.

7. Hosting, third-party services and downtime

Where you use third-party hosting, domain registration, email or similar services (whether arranged directly or through us), the terms of those providers apply. We are not responsible for outages, data loss or service changes caused by third-party providers.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MedicineHat.Online's total liability arising out of or in connection with any service or use of this website shall not exceed the amounts you have paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits or revenue, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate an engagement in writing for material breach not remedied within a reasonable time. Upon termination, you remain responsible for payment for all work completed up to the date of termination.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in Alberta, Canada.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
